The Easy Way To Have A Channel On YouTube.Com

Posted By on May 11, 2010

Have you ever wanted to be a producer, or an actor? Now you can, with very little experience and minimal to no cost. YouTube allows anyone to be a producer, and to post videos of themselves or other subjects that can then be viewed by viewers from around the world.

Don’t let the fear that it could be hard to do scare you away. It’s not hard. YouTube calls accounts “channels,” it is not a real channel per se, and you don’t have to have broadcasting experience. As soon as you sign up for an account you have a channel on YouTube.

If you are intrigued and want to get started here are some quick tips to get you up and running:

Register – It’s easy and it’s free. If you can figure out how to register for a free email account, you can register for YouTube. If you already have a Google account, you can even link it to YouTube.

Adjust the Settings – YouTube lets you make adjustments to the settings for your page. You can customize your page until it has the look you want.

Consider your viewers when you choose settings. The page is the channel people will see when they come to watch your videos; an unattractive channel may make them less likely to want to check out your content. Be especially careful with viewability, some colors are hard on the eyes. Stay away from these colors.

Upload a video – Follow the instructions YouTube gives you for uploading your video. Until you have videos on your channel, you’ve got an empty page. There’s no content for your viewers and no reason for anyone to subscribe to your channel.

Once you have videos on your channel, you’ll be able to tell how your audience receives them. YouTube has a lot of analytics that you can access to see how people are reacting. There is also a count of how many people are viewing, and viewers can also rate your videos.
