Wow, I just asked a question a lot like this before I saw yours. :)

Most computers with Windows XP or Vista come with Windows Movie Maker installed. It’s YouTube friendly, and pretty easy to use. I just wish it had more effects, but for basic video editing stuff it works great.
I’m not sure if it’s available as a free trial, or how much it’d cost to buy it. There’s a good chance you may already have it, though.

windows movie maker is good if you have a pc or imovie if you have a mac… if you want something else go to and just search for one…

    Hey there,

There are a few decent options available for you, and I am assuming you are on a PC computer.

Videospin – has some cool titles/graphics, very easy & quick to use:

SmashMash – this is a really fun little program, which can do some cool things like animating photos etc. Good for unleashing your creativity. They also have an online video editing version along with the downloadable version:

Videothang: super easy to use, bit lite on features

Loiloscope – this is a new video editing software I recently discovered. I haven’t played with it much yet but it looks quite fun. There simple version is free:

Lastly, if you’re up for trying something a little more complex, but has the capacity to try 150 different types of video effects including Green Screen, take a look at Zs4:
There are some helpful tutorials available on Youtube to help you learn how to get the best out of it.

Best of luck with all your video editing :)
